Questions to think about before you shop
- How much room do you have? Frames need floor space; sit-down models fit a sewing room.
- What size quilts do you usually make?
- Do you want to quilt freehand, with rulers, or with computer-guided designs?
- Are you quilting for yourself, for gifts and charity, or for customers?
Bring your answers when you visit and we’ll narrow it down together.
Common questions
Can I try a machine before I buy?
Yes. Call ahead and we’ll have a machine set up so you can quilt on it.
Do you offer training after the sale?
Yes. We host hands-on Handi Quilter training events, and Handi Quilter has a large library of free online lessons for owners.
What’s the difference between a sit-down and a frame model?
On a sit-down (ST) model, you move the quilt under the needle like a sewing machine. On a frame, the quilt stays put and you glide the machine across it, which makes big quilts much easier.
Can I add computerized quilting later?
Often, yes. Pro-Stitcher can be added to many frame setups. Ask us about your machine.
